Jailbroke my first 3GS iPhone today. The redsn0w process is smoother, but definitely still not for the faint-at-heart, even I sweated a bit before starting the jailbreak on my wife’s $600 (unsubsidized) iPhone purchased directly from the Apple Store on 5th Ave in NYC. It is suggested that 3GS owners first capture their iBEC and iBSS settings and this is probably the trickiest process of the three steps to unlocking the iPhone 3GS. Next, you use the redsn0w application for the jailbreak, which is pretty easy. The actual unlock step is now done with ultrasn0w which is an app that you grab with the Cydia Installer (created by redsn0w jailbreak) and is really a no-brainer as well, compared to the old firmware 1.0/2G days. Many thanx to the iPhone Dev-Team, my donation is on the way.
